Stevie Wonder's Long Delayed Album Coming Next Month...Maybe
August 13, 2005
Stevie Wonder's next album A Time 2 Love has already seen two
singles released to radio, with Wonder doing appearances on Oprah and
Good Morning America to promote the record...yet it isn't in stores. A
Time 2 Love was originally scheduled to come out in April of 2004, but
the studio perfectionist has continued working on his first record in a
decade.
However, at a gala concert event in New York City, Wonder told the
crowd it should be available by the end of September. FoxNews.com's
Roger Friedman reports that Wonder told the audience (and his label boss
Sylvia Rhone of Motown Records), "I know! I know! But it's really coming
out. They say they want it out for September 20th, I say the 27th."
Rhone later told Friedman that A Time 2 Love is being mastered, and
concurred with Wonder's announcement that it would be out September 27.
The concert was in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Voting
Rights Act and to raise awareness of voters' rights. Wonder has played a
handful of live dates recently, including the headlining slot at Live 8
in Philadelphia last month. He performs in Atlantic City tonight.
