[20] Stevie will be this year's recipient of Billboard magazine's Century Award. The publication's highest honour will be presented on Dec. 8 and will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

[24] Stevie and comedian Robin Williams will appear at a fundraiser on Friday 1st Oct. in Chicago for Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Barack Obama.
[22] BET's annual Walk Of Fame this year honours Smokey Robinson. Stevie along with India.Arie, Joss Stone, Gerald Levert, Usher and more will be on hand to pay tribute. The show will air on Tuesday, October 26.

[12] MTV Music Awards 2004: Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonder teamed for her hit "If I Ain't Got You" and then launched into rousing rendition of Stevie’s “Higher Ground.” After the show Ms. Keys said, "It was a dream come
true for me. I know this is something that I will never forget for my entire career."
[13] Stevie was among many celebrities at the funeral of Rick James (Aug 12). He sang the traditional song "I've Had Some Good Days," and told the crowd: "We're here to celebrate a father,
a husband, a brother, a friend, a son ... to celebrate life."

Syreeta Wright, the former wife and collaborator of Stevie Wonder, has died at the age of 58 after a long battle with cancer.
She started at Motown as a secretary before teaming up with Stevie as a song-writing partner. Her biggest hit was 'With You I'm Born Again' a duet with Billy Preston in 1980.
She released her first album 'Syreeta' in 1972 but it was 'Stevie Wonder Presents Syreeta' which launched her career. The Wonder produced album is considered one of the great 'lost' soul albums of the 70's.
Stevie and Syreeta always remained close friends, and on his recent interview with Oprah he mentioned her illness and sang 'Syreeta I love you' during a rendition of If You Really Love Me a song they wrote together.
Condolences to the family and to Stevie.

[19] Stevie Wonder has been selected as recipient of the Johnny Mercer Award by The National Academy of Popular Music/Songwriters Hall of Fame. The award will be presented June 10 2004.
"The Johnny Mercer Award goes to a 'songwriter's songwriter,"' Hal David, chairman of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, said. "I can think of no one who is more deserving of this accolade than Stevie Wonder.
His music is known and loved around the world and has made a difference in the lives of so many."

[25] Stevie Wonder to perform in Ghana for charity. The concert will raise funds to support under-privileged children in the country. It will be held on the April 3 at the International Conference Centre.

[29] Oprah Winfrey had quite a surprise party Thursday morning at her Chicago studios. Celebrity friends including Stevie Wonder, John Travolta, Tina Turner and Jay Leno stopped by to help Oprah celebrate her 50th birthday
[19] Martin Luther King's Daughter Yolanda King is releasing her first book, "Open My Eyes, Open My Soul: Celebrating Our Common Humanity." Compiled with writer Elodia Tate, it has contributions from Stevie Wonder,
