Stevie Wonder
at Live8
There was also a teaming up with Maroon 5's Adam Levine on a rousing rendition of
Signed, Sealed, Delivered.
He introduced the world to two new songs from his forthcoming album,
A Time
2 Love, the title track and a song he wrote for Syreeta prior to her death
called Shelter in the Rain. Both songs extolling the purpose of the cause -
Sharing, Giving and Loving.
The final tune of the night was the classic Superstition. One concert
goer, Paula Abdul, couldn't resist the beat, dancing enthusiastically on the
side of the stage and, by extension, on the jumbo screens.
"The meaning of being an artist is to really do these kinds of things,"
Wonder said backstage. "We cannot stop now. The only way we can end this is
to give more love."
Wonder's talent has spanned the generations and he showed his greatness to
the world yet again on Saturday.

July 2nd 2005 - Philadelphia
Stevie Wonder closed the Philadelphia leg of the Live8 with a very funky yet
emotional set engaging the crowd in a grand finale to the event. Backed by a
dapper 11-piece band, Wonder started his seven song set with the classic
Reggae freedom song, Masterblaster (Jammin').
He proved he wasn't too old for a good funk groove on
Higher Ground duetting with Rob Thomas and his new single
So What the Fuss -- which had
him strutting out in front of his keyboards in a choreographed dance with two
of his daughters.
